I have always been fascinated by language, and drawn to the study of it. I speak fluent Japanese, Spanish and Italian, and find that having a broad basis of diverse languages encourages a deeper understanding of how language works and how it builds a bridge between people. I aim to translate so that the English version is natural; too many translations nowadays bear the traces of the language they were translated from. My journalistic and proofreading experience means that I strive to produce an elegantly and idiomatically written final copy. You can be assured that you are in the safest hands!

Six years of studying Japanese including two years at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. First degree honours from the London School of Economics in Social and Cultural Anthropology.
職歴
Having worked briefly for the public relations office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Tokyo as a translator and interpreter, I now work as a translator/proof-reader/editor for a publishing company.
