Self Introduction

An interpreter/translator’s position is an exciting challenge for me and I have a strong motivation to apply. As indicated in my resume, I have a considerable experience as an interpreter with not-for-profit organizations and businesses in US and in my native Georgia. I am confident that my professionalism, management capabilities, and linguistics skills would make me a successful addition to your team.

After graduating with honors from Batumi State University, in the Republic of Georgia, I worked as an interpreter for international businesses and non-profit organizations in Georgia, the United States, and France, as well as for USAID, EU, EC, and UN-administered programs based in Georgia, for international conferences in Europe and USA as well. Through this work, I gained experience interacting with clients and senior executives, managing calendars, translating/interpreting in three languages (Russian/ Georgian/English) writing, proofreading, and editing reports and correspondences. These types of responsibilities necessitated excellent organization, time management, and prioritization capabilities. In addition, functioning in multilingual and multicultural environments endowed me with strong communication skills, and my fluency in English, Russian, and Georgian greatly contributed to my success in this type of setting. Based on my skills, experience and market demand hour rate for simultaneous interpreting is $100 per hour, although I am quite flexible in these terms and rates are negotiable.

Having worked for different industry (Business, Finances, Conference-Simultaneous, Legal and Medical interpretation) for the Federal Government in US and for other organizations as an interpreter (Homeland Security and Immigration Service, US State Department, The City Services and hospitals, Corts, UN, ACS, NYS OCFS, law firms, conferences calls, escort Services, conferences and meetings), I understand the need for innovation, flexibility, and resourcefulness in this type of environment. I feel confident in my problem-solving capabilities and I am always open to new challenges. Thank you so much for your time and consideration, and I look forward to discussing how I might contribute my time and efforts to your company.

Sincerely,
Maia Beridze
